Brainstorm/Ideas/Agenda
- What can VIVO do for the UF community? Are there other resources that link communities together, for easier collaboration?
- Are there other web 2.0 technologies that we should consider, or just be aware of?
First Meeting: 10/02/2007 MSL, Room L107
Valrie Davis, Laurie Taylor and Beth Zavoyski were present.
We looked at VIVO and talked about what it is, what it does, why it might be useful to UF, and what IS an ontology.
It was so difficult to schedule this meeting, and had such a poor turnout that it was decided we would try to communicate via the wiki.
A few things we talked about:
- In general it would be nice to have a place on the UF Libraries site that let people know of relevant Library 2.0 technologies.
- There aren't too many technologies that we thought should be covered, that aren't already covered by another group. The only one mentioned was google docs, as a helpful collaborative writing tool.
- Val and Sara have applied for a mini-grant to implement VIVO at UF, and we should know by November whether it will be funded.
