3.5.08-Marilyn Ochoa

The Education Library has met and decided to launch a new website (http://www.uflib.ufl.edu/educ/) that features many of the more dynamic elements found on the templates (e.g. RSS, faculty profiles, Meebo widget*). We did not add a link to Tools (toolbar) or a search box to the library catalog or Research Gateway.  We are contemplating changing the default Library Catalog link to enter into the Advanced Screen.

 

There are a lot of links on the page because the purpose for patrons to visit us is to gain quick access to those databases and services specifically provided by our staff.

 

We have created a number of new Research Guides.  We believe that these pages could be formatted for LibGuides to replace or be provided in addition to the library website.  The template for us to use for our research guides will probably be the same one used by other subject areas.

 

*We are currently looking into javascript to detach the widget from the webpages.
